I love curtain calls on Broadway because it's great to see the actors/actresses being themselves and letting out a few laughs after a heavy performance. Tell some of your favorite/funny curtain call experiences here!

I'd have to say Raisin in the Sun. I Loved when they all took their bows and then broke character to do a little dance. It was fun.
And Hairspray had a great CC, with Vilanch being so huge.

"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

On the Wed Dec 29th matinee of SPAMALOT in Chicago...Sara Ramirez runs out from upstage to take her bow downstage...and her heel got caught on her dress and she slipped..and slid...amd fell to the ground...and proceeded to crawl downstage while the cast was in convulsions, then she stood up and bowed, and embarassingly retracted to make way for Tim Curry - who had a bewildered look when he got onstage and people were laughing, as he had no idea what was going on. She wasn't injured, and seemed to laugh at herself once she was a little less red in the face... It was cute though.

Absolute Favorite- in Chicago, with the tour of Phantom of the Opera, when Patti Davidson-Gorbea winked and a blew a kiss to me whilst I was in the first row and stood up when she came forth to bow.

Funniest- Tour of Hairspray in Chicago, the two men who played Link Larkin and Seaweed had like a weired handshake when they came onstage, it was just really funny.

The night in Chicago where the cast of the then out of town Producers was taking its bows and as Lane ran out he stumbled and nearly fell into the orchestra pit.

Broderick was standing nearby caught his arm and pulled him back and Lane tipped his cap to his co-star...saying something like 'I've been breaking your fall ever since we got in town....it's about time you carried ME for a change'.

As the audience was laughing at the ad lib, Broderick dropped his head to his chest as if he were pouting and Lane grabbed him in a bear hug. A cute and very unrehearsed moment.

I saw Wayne Brady in "Chicago" in November... after the curtain call while the orchestra was playing he started clapping in rythym and the aurdience started to do so as well... and then he said something like "Oh, this is Broadway, I forgot... can't do that here."
