Hey guys! I really need a good, funny/character piece. I'm an alto. I've done a search already and posted, but nothing sparked me. The clicnher? It can only be a minute and a hald of the song. Also, something talk singy would be nice, 'cause I don't really have a belt. I'm an actress who sings not really a singer.
What i was looking at but probably won't do:
"How lucky you are" and "notice me horton" Seussical (i donno if i could handle that one vocally)
"Nothing" Chorus line - too long, can't cut
"Trip to the library" - see above (i hate cutting story songs)
"Just one Step" - SFANW (our teacher likes us to do things more age appropriate/storyish song)
"Adelaides Lament" and "Perfect Relationship" were both done in preveious years.
Thanks preemptively!
'My New Philosophy'~YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN
'I Know Things Know'~INTO THE WOODS
"Doing What Comes Naturally." from Annie Get Your Gun.
Not sure how long it is, but...my brains refusing to work, and doing a search didn't work out so well.
Thanks, Priest and Monkey. "..Philosophy" might be a bit too belty, but I was looking into "Little Known Facts" from the same show. Ill definitely look into "I know things now". I LOVE Into the Woods!
"I Hate Men", Kiss Me Kate.
"I'm The Greatest Star" - FUNNY GIRL
Taylor the Latte Boy is cool, but I'm an alto as well and it's too belty for me sometimes.
"I Cain't Say No" - Oklahoma
"Roxie" - Chicago
funny honey- chicago

Logic from Dance of the Vampires is pretty funny
If you're looking for something really good, but it's a tongue-twister, try the Chancellor's Nightmare Song in Gilbert and Sullivan's Iolanthe.
