#0Funny Girl -- The Role of Heckie?
Posted: 5/9/04 at 10:40pmI was cast as the role, Heckie, in our school's upcoming musical, Funny Girl. My question is, what sort of character is this, and does he sing//dance//act at all? I'd never heard of the character and I have seen the show once.

I once played Heckie in my high school production. He's a cab driver who has a couple of lines with Fanny just after she auditions for Mr. Keeney. He also leads the reprise of "If a Girl Isn't Pretty" - light baritone. That was what I was originally cast in. I assume you have some other assignments as well. From that initial casting, I eventually took on the roles rehearsal pianist, Mr. Davis, Adolph, among a couple others.

Posted: 5/10/04 at 8:37amThanks much for the info! So its a pretty small part? I'm trying to figure out if I'll have time to do this during the summer. I dont think I'll be playing any other roles, the director had alot of people try out, and pretty much gave every part to someone.
