I want to see more of Bernie on screen. I'd still love if something became of Square One, and I cherish my bootleg of her Dolly, but leading a musical is hard. I'm always overjoyed when she shows up for a guest appearance on something. I think with the right creator (sit down, Mr. Murphy) she could deliver some iconic later in life screen performances.

I was fortunate enough to see her in both "A Little Night Music" and "Hello Dolly" and loved her in both. I had heard years ago that ALW had asked her to take over 'Sunset Boulevard' when Buckley was ending her run, but she was not interested with all the drama which was going on with ALW and his leading ladies off-stage. It's too bad - I think she would've made a wonderful Norma Desmond, and very believable as the actress who couldn't transition into talkies.
