Has this show been discussed before? I have a feeling its not going to do so well. a discription:

GIRL GROUP TIME TRAVELERS

A new musical with pop songs about a 1960's singing trio who bring a lovelorn teen back in time.

I dont know, i just feel like we have to much "60's" going on right now lol

It is another jukebox musical, but from what I understand, it was workshopped under a different name, and the name had to be changed for some reason. I believe it uses the music of the 60's girl groups. The name itself doesn't appeal to me, but who knows.

BEEHIVE is a revue that was first done around 15 years ago. It originally had a cast of six - three white girls and three black girls. The music ranged from Supremes,/Ronettes/ Chiffons stuff through Leslie Gore, Petula Clark, Janis Joplin,Aretha Franklin, Cher, etc.


If the new show is a reworked version of this, it will require a LOT of reworking. BEEHIVE had no plot - just some rather cheesy narration talking about new events of the 60's - the JFK assassination, the war in Viet Nam, etc - to try and put the songs into historical perspective.

As for the title, maybe they theought BEEHIVE sounded too much like HAIRSPRAY.
