Are the GLEE concerts a showcase of the performers or a live stage show? I only ask because Kevin McHale, who plays the wheelchair bound Artie, is known for being a skilled dancer, and yet in the clips and pictures I have seen of the concerts given, he remains in his wheelchair on stage ala Daniel Day Lewis's Method acting in MY LEFT FOOT. Now, I could understand if GLEE was a children's show that he would want to keep character for the fans, but We all know he's not crippled, why doesn't he just be Kevin McHale, instead of Artie? Am I overreacting? But if it's a Live Stage Show which has a plot(then again, isn't that a musical?), then Kevin McHale staying in character makes sense.

They are all in character. It is NOT Kevin McHale it's Artie. That is why Rachel doesn't sing Mama Who Bore Me.

I haven't seen the tour put i have friends that have, and the concert does sort of have a plot from what i hear. There are certain sets that were recreated and moments where there is a script. Kevin only doesn't perform in the wheel chair during "Safety Dance", since that is how it was done in the show. The concert tour is basically trying to recreate what was seen on the show.
I just think it would be better if it was Lea Michele, not RACHEL BERRY and I'd love it if she sang Mama who bore me!
