JAY Records will take the Lincoln Center Theater troupers of THE GLORIOUS ONES into a studio Jan. 8, 2008, to record the cast album of the new Lynn Ahrens-Stephen Flaherty musical.
JAY producer John Yap told Playbill.com he's aiming for a summer 2008 release for the disc, which will record two days after the show ends its Off-Broadway engagement. Yap has a long history of preserving the lyrics of Ahrens and the music of Flaherty on cast albums: LCT's DESSA ROSE and A MAN OF NO IMPORTANCE, York Theatre Company's LUCKY STIFF, London's ONCE ON THIS ISLAND, as well as the Chicago production of Flaherty's LOVING REPEATING.
Two songs from THE GLORIOUS ONES have already made their way into concerts and cabarets: "Opposite You" and "I Was Here."
