GODOT Revival set for 2009

Beckett's WAITING FOR GODOT, directed by Garry Hynes will hit Broadway in the winter/spring of 2009. This production will play an engagement in January at the Seattle Rep. Bill Irwin will star in that production, no word on whether or not he'll come to NY with it.

so NOT looking forward to this; I won't be seeing it.

I know it's a theatre classic but it is too heady and boring.

BobbyBubby posted this news in his blog a while ago too.

"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"

What good news for the people in Seattle! Even better news would be that "Godot" and Bill Irwin were coming to NY.

So I'll keep my fingers crossed in hopes of 'better news'.

Thanks for info Yankee, I know you'll keep us updated.

*Edit* Guess the better news is already here. Now I'm excited!

When I read the title of the thread, I thought "I sure hope Bill Irwin is in that".

who could we suggest for the other actor? maybe that guy who was on some 80s sitcom and then did Surreal Life and there was a rumor about him and Allanis Morrisette? Dave something? I would so go see him and Bill Irwin engage in verbal sword play.

Ok, who would see this? True, it is a classic piece of absurdist theatre, but unfortunatly it probably won't sell...
What a night! I was in more laps than a napkin!
