Happily , they've released the recording of the wonderful GOLDEN BOY OF THE BLUE RIDGE. This show along with THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS and YANK were my favorite scores to come along in some time. If you're not put off by the idea of a bluegrass-country retelling of PLAYBOY OF THE WESTERN WORLD you're in for a real treat. The show has a wonderful score that's beautifully played and sung. They had previously recorded my favorite number " A Wanted Man " but for the cd have redone it even better. I urge you to give a listen to this wonderful toe tapping show. I loved it! I'm a big Peter Mills fan (especially the score for THE FLOOD ) but I think this is his best work so far.
