GREASE is the word.
Honey, you can get good seats at half price at the TKTS Booth on Times Square. CHITTY isn't selling well at all.
Good seats for Chitty - any seat in any other theatre.
Bad seats - anything where you actually have to watch that drek onstage.
Totally unnecessary.
Those are fine seats. Really, anywhere in the orchestra is probably decent. Do student rush if you can... you'll get great seats.
Don't worry Chitty is completely enjoyable, and sadly its true about sales and you will probably be able to move up...although it did take a significant leap to 87% capacity last week
Go Chitty! That's not *too* shabby.
Yeah , i had definitely bought the ticket before i initially posted . im sweating a little as i had to buy a non-discounted ticket cuz it seemed to fall just right on top of all the blackout periods. i want to see this show for marc and raul, plus i love the movie, im a little nervous though, ive always been under this impression that you have to have some like out of body experience or some similar occurrence for theater to be worth it, and ive seen lots of theater, but for some reason im unsure about this going in., oy, rant over.
If you like the movie, you'll probably enjoy the show. It's certainly not high art, and it's pretty silly, but it really captures that "magical" aspect of theatre, and just makes you feel like a kid again. That's a neat experience, I think. And the cast is stunning.
emcee, youve assuaged my concerns. "it really captures that "magical" aspect of theatre, and just makes you feel like a kid again. That's a neat experience, I think." something about that really hit me, i guess i can be a little elitist when it comes to theater.
I think I have an elitist side, and to be completely honest, I went to see Chitty the first time simply because of the cast, namely Raúl. But by intermission, I was grinning like an idiot; I felt like I was five, and I looked at my brother and was just like "dude. I LOVE THIS!" After it, we were both giggling like little kids in Disney World. It's contagious. The show is just fun, and sometimes, there's not a damned thing wrong with that.

we're sold out at Chitty for the rest of the month. Only a few single seats are available for the rest of the month.
valid point, there is nothing wrong with just fun,i like the whole heartwarmign aspect of the moviethough you know, its a bit corny but hey. as far as theater goes, ive been on a drama bender lately, with woolf, doubt, glengarry , and piazza( may not be drama, but not a typical musical) i was thinking about seeing woolf again but i had plans to see this, and they look a little hazy at this point, so i thought what the hell. itll be nice to shake things up.
I saw it the same day I saw Piazza and while I adored Piazza and will listen to the cast recording probably till the day I die, and didn't even buy Chitty's stupid london recording...I laughed so hard at Chitty and the whole cast was amazing especially Chip Zien who is a bit underated and although I knew the car would fly, I was so ridculously excited when it did...that I do believe I enjoyed the Chitty portion of my day as much as the Piazza.
I remember looking at my brother before she flew, rolling my eyes and being like "oh, fab. The car's going to fly now." He rolled his eyes right back at me. I was there for the actors, up until that point. Then I just sort of fell into complete childish abandon. It just looks so cool that it's really hard not to smile and be unconditionally happy when that car flies. The cast's energy is simply electrifying. Like I keep saying, it's certainly not intellectually stimulating, but it's adorable. I laughed so much; the cast has killer comedic timing.
im getting really excited now, a bit of a 180, im in good shape for the car flying row L right? i thought i had read something about 15 rows being too far or something like that and i dont want to be too close to see the lift or any such thing.
You'll be fine. I sat in row L, toward the right, probably pretty close to where your seat is, and it was an excellent view. You can't see the lift unless you're really looking for it, and know what you're looking for. Chances are you'll be too distracted by the "oh my gosh, how cool!!" factor to really be looking for it.
I sat in F which was amazing, mostly because of the footroom b/c there is a huge gap in the rows, but Chip runs by twice which was quite cool and I almost accidentally tripped him because my foot was sticking out...
Whenever I'm worrying about my seats I just always think about the sometimes hundreds of people with seats worse than mine and chill
I saw it, I'm almost 50, and I enjoyed it. It was silly and fun. Went to see it cuz the wife likes Raul. Those seats are fine. Too close is no good. And I couldn't get that Chitty song out of my head for days!!! Enjoy!

Having been from the front of the theatre to the second to last row, and both being different but wonderful experiences, your seats are fine. I definitely agree with the fact that it makes you feel like a kid again. It's a very fun experience, pure fun.
