I scored a row H center Orch. seat this morning online. I hear this show is quite the tear jerker and I am ready for it.

I had the good fortune to see this with LaChanze and with Fantasia. I thought it was a very enjoyable show, and it had a nice run. I hate to see it go!

I was lucky enough to see it with the orginal cast. I really wanted to see it with Chaka. For those going, please post details about tonight's show. I wish I lived in New York!

Just got rush tickets for the last performance. There was quite a brawl in the line this morning. A bunch of people supposedly got in line at 3am, but only one person was in line for about 8 people. Some of the group stayed in a car around the block. They all got 2 tickets each for the final performance even though the other 50 people in line told security that they had cut. It was a mess! Lots of potty mouths!

I just returned from seeing the matinee----I've never seen this show before and I was amazed at how good it was-----the acting and talent were incredible. I'm surprised it's closing---
The actress who played Celie (I don't remember her name)----had an emotional moment singing her last solo and her voice cracked on the last note ----- the audience definitely appreciated her talent. (I don't know the score well enough to name the number) But----very well done show!

Good-bye, Color Purple. Does any one know if Brandi Chavonne Massey ever went on as Celie?

I'm going to miss this show.
I saw it six times during its run.
It was a complete joy.
Broadway is surely going to be missing some soul without TCP on the boards.
Best of luck to the immensely talented cast.
And let's hope the composers write us another gorgeous score sometime soon!

Just got back from the final performance! It was AMAZING! The cast was miles better than the last time I saw it. Although Zonya was vocally exhausted, her acting was wonderful and she was very smart about the way she sang (not reaching for notes she can't hit). It would have been nice if Chaka Khan and BeBe Winans knew their lines for the final show, but ah well . . . Angela was the best I've seen her; "What About Love" was one of the best reditions I've seen. Krisha was a riot and she was balling throughout the end.
There were tons of added moments. The end of "Mysterious Ways" went on forever as Doug Eskew riffed on. It was very touching, at one point he said something like "And one last time now you all" and such. It even got a standing ovation. There were many funny monents provided by the ensemble. In particular, two cast members doing the dirty deed on the piano during "Uh Oh!" The engery level was so high and the audience was great. A few former cast members were there, most notably Felicia. This was my first time at the closing performance of a Broadway show and it was wonderful! Despite the unfortunate events of this morning.

Also back from the final PURPLE. A wonderful evening.
Zonya was (again) struggling vocally, but genuinely filled the role of Celie with TLC. Angela NAILED Shug this evening, and I've never seen Alton better.
The biggest surprise for me was Ms. Kahn (who was out the last performance I attended, an evening show.) Fresh line deliveries, and she looked to be having a ball.
No speeches, just a solid and emotional farewell performance.

TCP you know what you meant to me. I miss you so much. Thanks for giving me the push of hope right when I needed it. Many blessings to all the cast and the creative crew. I loved this show.
