GREASE info

Is there anyone out there whohas seen the broadway version of grease. I am about to direct it here in New Zealand and am trying to come up with some new ideas for the set etc. Living here in New Zealand it is very hard to keep up with what shows are like after being revamped and given a bit of a face lift to bring them onto the market again. I got the 95 recording and really liked what had been done with the music and was wondering what the set design was as I would like to give the audiences something new to look at. I have been thinking of going sort of cartoonish with the back drops and sets etc. If anyone has a programme of the show I would be really keen on getting a look.
Regards and thanks for any help you can give.

In the words of Kay Thompson in Funny Face, "Think Pink!"

I have honestly tried to block out as much as possible of what I thought to be an uninspired revival. However, I can not reliquish the memory of so much pink. Even the outside of the theatre was painted pink.

I also have a recollection of tires being tossed around in someone's number... Updated On: 9/16/03 at 10:43 AM

the ideas mentioned so far are certainly reflective of the recent Broadway revival of Grease.....the original production of Grease was not very cartoonish or pink:)) lemme know if which production you are interested in:))

I saw the revival it was my first Broadway show actually :)I was 13 so I loved it now that I have seen many other shows. I realize it's a good thing it was the first one I saw if I where to see it now I wouldn't have like it so much. I remember the scene where they find Danny running there was half the read car on stage coming out of a random wall mid stage. I also don't remember a lot of eye popping screenery scenery other then the car I remember Franchies bathroom and that's it lol. I mean I'm sure there was more but that's all I can recall.
