hahahahahaha....perhaps PBS can intitute a reality show with Patti putting all the wanna-be child actors through the ringer, to see it they're really cut out to be Broadway performers.
Seriously, I'd love to see that but find it totally unrealistic. At this point, it's too big a hit and too much of a classic. The powers that be sure wouldn't rain on the profits from future productions, all of which will be compared to the La LuPone classic.

Posted: 7/2/08 at 10:23amBoth this and South Pacific should be taped since in my opinion they perfect shows with perfect casts Tonys or not. Same with Sunday in the Park with George but unfortunately that closed and they already preserved the original with Mandy and Bernadette.

When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

Arthur screaming at him, Arthur saying his music is only good because the orchestrations are good, Arthur locking them (Charles and Richard Maltdby)in his Quouge beach house in order to get the score finished, Arthur laughing when he found out Tony Perkins had AIDS. Typical Arthur stuff. But we love him anyway!
