Sorry, I know there was already a thread on this, but I couldn't find it in the search.
How far in advance will vacation be announced for Ms. LuPone in GYPSY? Is there usually a certain amount of time ahead that this would be announced for an above the title lead in a show?
I emailed her two weeks ago and she replied "So far, I have no vacation scheduled."
Thanks for your help, everyone.
It depends on how far in advance the performer wants to tell everyone. If Patti is going on vacation, there is a possibility they'll let people know pretty far in advance since her name is billed above the title, and people would be entitled to refunds if they wanted to see her.

Nobody major has vacation planned for this coming Friday (the...5th?), right? I didn't see anything on the board and my dad has the day off from work so we bought tickets and will be seeing it, but I'm sincerely hoping there isn't any vacation scheduled. Just double-checking so I don't get a surprise at the door!
(Also--SLIGHTLY OT--who tends to come out/not come out the stagedoor after the show?)
Thanks!
Nope. Patti usually Stage Doors non-matinee days.

A friend of mine is in the show and he said that Patti will be out on the 4th and 5th because she's taping a TV show in LA. It's not a "vacation" but it will give her u/s a chance to go on.

DollyPop are you jokeing? I am getting tickets for Thursday if Linda is going on. I worship Lupone but I want to support the show and Linda as well.

Does that mean Patti will be going on this Wednesday night DollyPop? Please say so. I will be seeing the show for the first time.

Wednesday is the 3rd. So she will be there.
Sorry, but who is Linda? I know that Lenora is an u/s too (right?), but I can't remember if I heard about Linda going on before.
Hope Patti's back by the matinee on the 6th. Nothing against Linda (or Lenora), but I'm taking my mom for her birthday and a friend and would like if they saw Patti for their first time.
Linda Balgord, if I am not mistaken. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, Linda Balgord is correct. She has not gone on before. She was in The Pirate Queen, Cats and Sunset Boulevard. Please, come support the show with her on Thursday or Friday if you can. Im sure you will be able to get a ticket.

Lenora doesn't understudy anymore. Technically, there are no understudies in Gypsy. They are all standbys and there is just one for Rose: Linda Balgord.
I don't doubt you, Dolly, but why isn't it listed on telecharge that Patti is going to be out?
Well although I'm not 100% sure whether she was there or not, since I wasn't there. I went to get student rush to see the understudy go on but the person at the box office said Patti was on tonight and he knew nothing about her being out tomorrow so I didn't buy a ticket.
If Patti was out, we'd know.
Telecharge would list something, especially if it was a planned absence. I think Dolly was just being an ass and lying to everyone.
