....these words greet you early on in the inappropriately funny Fan Yang Gazillion Bubble Show (or Bubbleshow, depending on what I will mention).
Fan Yang, a Vietnamese-Hungarian, is a bubble artist. He makes bubbles. He spends an hour and twenty minutes making soap bubbles of different sizes, shapes, colors, etc, with technology that he, apparently, invented. The show is perfect for little children, all of whom will be in shock and awe by the bubbles. All I have to say is thank God I had a comp.
Early on, Fan Yang admits that he speaks broken English. While you give his speaking voice the benefit of the doubt, this factor is no excuse for his many projections. One would think that someone would be able to proofread his title cards. Words are misspelled, sentences are gramatically incorrect (see the title), and there are even many discrepancies about the title of the show (it was called Gazillion Bubble Show and Gazillion Bubbleshow). In a scene where he projects "I Love You" into a bubble, it's turned into "Ilove You." It surprised me that "You" was spelled correctly, as, in the film introduction, it began with something to the effect of "Now presenting to U..."
I know it should all be taken with a grain of salt, but in a "high profile" production, it comes off as shabby. Very shabby.
All in all, it wasn't a total loss. I left with a smile on my face....mainly from watching all of the children in the audience....again, glad I didn't pay.
