I had a feeling it would be tough going

Wilson's last work "King Hedley" prematurely bit the dust as well. As long as tourists are the engine that keeps Broadway going, drama will be a hard sell. Tourists want to see falling chandeliers & showgirls. With ticket prices in the stratosphere, drama will continue to lose to musicals in the fight for a limited amount of money people have budgeted for Broadway. What a pity
