Yes, the subject was 1 of the items in a disturbing email I received today fr Scott Barbarino MAC BOD VP. He wrote: “I now see you are genetically predisposed to behaving this way”. Mr. Barbarino promised to post this email if I mentioned that he sent it to me. Well, here it is Scott. Go for it.
“…I now see you are genetically predisposed to behaving this way” It’s a phrase & a point of view that is frightening. A phrase which any thinking person will understand is the underlying basis of racism. To say that anyone is predisposed to act in any way is the basis for racism & promotes prejudice. So I hope Mr. Barbarino DOES publish the entire email so people can see how the VP of the MAC BOD thinks.
Barbarino also wrote: “As an American who supports free speech, I am offended that you would abuse that right in such a flagrant way.” If Barbarino is so in favor of free speech, how is it that he, as part of the MAC BOD, voted UNANIMOUSLY even at the 7/5/2005 MAC BOD Emergency Mtg to prohibit the MAC mbrshp from having a free & open discussion in a MAC mtg in which they would have the right to discuss & vote on the voting procedure for the MAC Awards?
Why was MAC mbrshp instead presented w/a fait accompli in which they had no say at all?
I do find the email very disturbing, so Mr. Barbarino I give you the opp to publish it.
And BTW, it’s 92 days (& counting) w/o a response fr the MAC BOD to my 7/4/2005 email to the MAC BOD.
