Looks like it's coming to Chicago for a 12 week stint.

who cares. it's not as good as De La Guarda was, and the show itself lacks a lot of everything. I went not too long ago and about 2 sections of it were cut due to financial incapabilities ...so some 'stunts' were out. Disappointment.

I'll catch it if I have the funds. But I wish that BIC would stop sticking things in the Barn. That theater is enormous. When we saw Spamalot there we may as well have been sitting across the street. Granted if we had more money we could've bought better/closer seats but still. Too bad that shopping center on the corner of State and Randolph went up instead of another theater Get ready for a summer rave: 'Fuerza Bruta' coming to Chicago's Auditorium boo. Not that I know anything about the economics of that sort of thing, but I hate the Barn so an additional house for big but not huge touring shows would be nice.

Well, I believe BIC is taking over Drury Lane Water Tower.

And it sounds like this is actually good use of the space- audience on the stage and production all around. Interesting concept.

I saw Fuerza Bruta last summer and loved it (except the head-splitting pre-show music). No, it wasn't as good as De La Guarda, but it was still brilliant in its own right. I had no idea if anything was cut, but I thought it was a fantastic show and the audience was having a blast. If they contain the entire show and audience to the stage of the Auditorium, it sounds like it could work very well. I'd gladly go see it again. I do wish we could get De La Guarda, though. I saw t in London and it is still one of my all-time favorite shows I've seen.

I wonder what they do to accommodate the physically impaired? I couldn't stand the whole time- do I just miss out?

I'm not sure how that would work. For De La Guarda, the audience mainly stood in the center the entire show and turned in different directions as the action took place around them in different parts of the theatre. For Fuerza Bruta, the audience is actually herded to different areas by stagehands as the set pieces are moved in and out of the space, so you are often occupying different areas throughout the show. Do you have a problem just standing still, or are you ok if you have some mobility in movement?

I walk with a cane. I can handle short distances but wouldn't be able to take a full show on the hoof. I probably wouldn't see it anyway but just curious.

It's interesting- Broadway in Chicago kind of freaks out about accessibility and will snag me in the lobby to ask my seat location so in case of fire they can apparently assign some hapless usher to carry me out. My getting on-stage seats for Spring Awakening caused a big hullabaloo. They ended up taking me up via some back stage route before anyone else and getting me settled before confiscating my cane. Then at intermission "My" usher came to walk me out and make sure I was OK before repeating the whole process 10 minutes later after the set change. I apologized about 50 times for causing so much trouble.
