Between this and Cherry Jones in The Glass Menagerie, August is shaping up to be a good time to visit Scotland.

It seems I make a lot of posts about this show. Anyway, various updates here: http://us3.campaign-archive1.com/?u=af7a95d108d6c7798f0fe43e9&id=cedd0df7ca. Most notably, they've released a second cast album, recorded live this time, including the spoken scenes. You can listen online for free, or buy the album to help fund their Edinburgh trip. http://davemalloy.bandcamp.com/album/live-at-the-mckittrick. From what I've heard so far it's not very different from the first recording, but it's nice to get the scenes, particularly for those who won't get to see this in person.

i've really come to love this score in the last month or so since I first heard it. I'm glad they've released a second album, it helps with some of the plot holes caused by listening to the recording without seeing it. I wish I could go to the upcoming performance at Joe’s Pub!

A bit of a random thread revival, but I hadn't realised that Ghost Quartet was being licensed for productions here and there with other performers. For example, Theatre Elision in St Paul, Minnesota is doing a second series of Ghost Quartet performances around Halloween this year, after a similar run last year. Just curious, has anyone here seen a production of the show without the original 'Quartet'? How was it?

Time for yet another Ghost Quartet post from me... for those interested, if you haven't previously heard, the Australian premiere (I think) is happening in Melbourne in August.

I haven't seen Ghost Quartet yet. However, I have attended some shows by the group that is staging it, Black Button Eyes. They are a small non-equity theatre company. They recently have done decent productions of Goblin Market, Amour, and Shockheaded Peter. I enjoyed all three of these shows.

I really enjoyed it! It wasn't perfect, but I think they did a great job and it was well worth my day trip to Chicago. They really captured the feel of the piece, and it was so nice to see Malloy's music performed.
