On the sidebar, I saw "Ghostlight to record Le..." and I thought it was going to say Les Miserables. But this is better!

well, we know she has vowed to never perform the show again!

As far as I know, it was recorded but will never be released. ;_;
Yep - I believe I heard that as well, marshmallow. Permission was not granted.

Last I heard, it'll be released on the show's myspace.
this whole affairs was such a roller coaster
i can't believe that ms. lupone would let them.
why did she vow never to perform the show again?
Permission from Patti wasn't granted?
Hm...
Isn't the story that not only was permission not granted, LuPone had her lawyers file a cease and desist order against the show?
I don't blame LuPone - its one thing to recreate the act for a one weekend gig in NYC but once you begin to tour it and start making money - I wouldn't be cool with it.

According to Kritzer, LuPone had the production shut down, so yes, a cease and desist order was filed.
I believe she did give her consent at the beginning, no?

She did, and her permission was asked every time they set up a new performance (ie, SF). She just got tired of the parody, I guess.
I think it had more to do with money than the parody.

Or maybe she was tired of hearing Leslie overshoot every other note.
"Rainbow Sharp" and "Meadowsharp" were particularly offensive.

There was NO cease and desist order. Nothing so dramatic. And nothing to do with money (or someone's bitchy idea of sharping).
Patti's approval was granted at every step of the journey, and after San Francisco, everyone decided the journey was over.

NOTHING HAVING TO DO WITH THE MILK!!!
Thats good to hear Pal -- the rumours have been nasty - but I'm sure everyone was just excited about the possibility of Miss Patti giving us one last diva tantrum (ah the SUNSET BOULEVARD days).
And I'm excited that the journey is over and now Kritzer can do new shows. Like Leslie Kritzer is Bette Midler at the Continental Baths!
Leslie Kritzer is Eydie Gorme at the Jones Beach Beach Music Festival!
