If there's at least one number in EVERY Gilbert and Sullivan operetta that almost ALWAYS has an encore performance of that song (whether the audience wants it or not, according to Anna Russell), can anyone say its names and where do they start it from?
And if there is one G&S operetta that doesn't need one (but it sometimes has anyway), say it.
Mikado (in my production, though-- I've only done a production, I've never seen anybody else's):
"I am so proud" - they would always start from "To sit in solemn silence"
"Here's a howdy-do" - they would always do the whole number again, but with bigger fans
Pinafore:
"Never mind the why and wherefore" - they always start at Josephine's verse and they always get bigger bells!
Anybody got any others?
