I read that there was a musical based on the TV show. Is that true? If so how was it?
i don't know if that's true, but i'm having a lot of fun coming up with a cast in my head
so far i have:
michael mulheren as the skipper
hugh jackman as the professor
kristin chenoweth as maryanne
having trouble coming up with some of the others...

I've heard a couple of tracks, and quite frankly, they're not that bad. Melissa Fahn had a fantastic solo as Mary Ann that was definitely worth a few repeat listens. It was a ballad called "Things I Could Have Said" that happens just after... well, I won't spoil it. Updated On: 10/30/06 at 01:25 AM

Saw a regional production a few years ago. Enjoyed it. That's about all I know.
Some of the songs don't sound too bad. It would be an interesting concept to see.

I saw the original production in Chicago around 1992, directed by Sherwood Schwartz himself. Horrible, awful, dreadful.
