Just saw it for the first time today. What a delicious movie! And a very funny performance by Ginger Rogers. If you are a fan of CHICAGO you should take a look at this film. It truly nails the black humor aspect of the piece.
YES YES YES! I am loathe to admit that I didn't know about this gem. I also accidentally surfed to it today and was amazed to see Ginger, Adolph Menjou, and William Frawley! It was a very well done film for the 40's.
It will find a place into my DVD library soon!
Great movie!

I couldn't believe how many direct references and frame by frame to the T....Rob Marshall took from this film... Right down to the paperboy scene at the court verdict outside on the street.
And all this time I thought those shots were originally created by him. I loved Ginger!

I actually have this DVD and love it. Another little seen Rogers gem is "I'll Be Seeing You" with Joseph Cotton. Ginger doesn't sing and dance in it but it's a fine film.

I LOVE Ginger, but I hated this movie. Apart from the obvious Fred/Ginger ones, my favorite is Bachelor Mother. <3
I watched this earlier today as well. It was funnier than I was expecting. And I loved Fred Mertz as the foreman.
