After seeing Broadway: 3 Generations and loving Girl Crazy with Max Von Esson (SP?) (Crosses fingers for a revival though it will never happen) I began looking up the original production but found nothing besides a NY Times Review. Does anyone know if there is an original cast recording or any photos of the production/playbill. Thanks.

There were no cast recordings back in those days. Merman recorded her song sometime afterward.
Yes, the first "cast" album of the score was a Columbia studio cast recording made in 1951 starring Mary Martin. By that I mean she takes all the good numbers for herself (regardless of which character sings the song in the show) and leaves the supporting cast handle the rest. It's a pleasant album but not terribly theatrical.
In 1991 Nonesuch released a note-complete CD that tried to replicate what first-nighteres heard (orchestrations, performances etc.) and it is much much better and come packed with a thick booklet full of fascinating info about the production.
GIRL CRAZY CD
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
No photos, but here is the IBDB page:

Thanks for all the help, that was the first Gershwin Musical I have seen. My great grandma use to sing with them!
