Gloria - Obstructive View Seats

Hi everyone!

Has anyone sat in the obstructive view seats at the Vineyard theatre? Specifically for Gloria? Noticed that the front row is listed as obstructive. Wanted to know how obstructive? I'm guessing maybe you just can't see the actors feet but I could be wrong. Any help is appreciated!

The front row isn't usually obstructed at the Vineyard, it's because of the set design which has cubicles. If you sit in the front row, you miss entrances from the back of the stage. I haven't sat there for this show but that's what I've heard.

If the first row was described as "obstructive view" I'd worry that it'd mean that I couldn't be too big lest I obstruct others' views.

I sat in the obstructed view seats and it was really only annoying in act 1. The way that the cubicles are set up you can only see the front two. If someone is standing it isn't an issue, but when the characters who sit there are seated you cant see them at all. You probably only miss 5 minutes of the show and i felt them to be worth the price of $35

I saw it from the front row and even with the minor obstructions, I didn't feel that I missed anything major. That said, they released a discount code for $59 tickets during the two-week extension in July. If you're worried about missing too much, it might be worth the extra couple of bucks to secure a better seat. Either way, this play shouldn't be missed.
