I went to the "God Lives in Glass" reading at the Theatre at St. Clement's church on 46th last night. And let me say... WOW!
I went in hardly knowing anything about the book, or show, and left in complete awe.
The show is based on the book by Robert Landy, and is a collection of interpretations of God as answered by little children. He actaully interviewed over 500 kids himself and asked them quesitons like "what does God look like, where does he live... etc"
The show has a very basic setup. It was made up of about 20 cast members and they sat in chairs around a piano. Each performer represented a certain age, religion, culture etc.
Although the show sounds very religious, considering the fact that all the songs are about God, it really isn't. It just really makes you think... it's very effective and real.
I got a chance to speak with the writer after the performance and he said that he is hoping for a spring Off-Broadway opening.
Definetely look out for it... it'll be great.
Oh, and ofcourse... Lisa Brescia was awesome in it

I love the show. After NYU first wrote performed it, they sent it to my high school for us to produce and perform. The music is really quite beautiful, especially my favorite "Missiles and Stars," we took it to competitions where it wasn't very well recieved. Most people didn't understand the message, or why there was no real story line. But we traveled around performing it at churches, and most people really loved it. It certainly does make you think and its interesting the kind of responses that different age groups from different cultures gave. It would be great to see it off broadway.
I really think it would be great off-Bway... it's the kindof show people need to see... i think it will benefit everyone
