Posted: 3/30/09 at 12:38pmNot when I was there Saturday night. He came out the side door while Marsha Gay Harden was signing at the stage door. It didn't stop people from rushing down to take photos. He was rushed to his car.

Posted: 3/30/09 at 1:54pmI happened to be walking back from Hair as God of Carnage let out as James Gandolfini exited the theatre. I couldn't really tell if he was signing, if so it was only for a second. Someone asked him politely for a picture and as he walked away he said he couldn't. It was directly in front of the theatre, so if you're out there you should see him. No guarantees on signatures though. Hope that helps. Updated On: 2/15/14 at 01:54 PM

Posted: 3/30/09 at 5:37pmGandolfini was very kind when I saw this show early in previews, told everybody not to worry, he'd sign for them, and stuck around to do just that. Can't remember about photos, I ducked out after I thanked him...I remember they didn't have any barricades up and thinking that they'd have to start doing that, people are pretty excited to see him. Lots of actors leave through that alley, he didn't seem to be hiding...at least at that point in the run!

I agree and didn't, but the people I was with only wanted to see the show because of him. There were SO many like that. When you are a big draw for a show, it would be nice to come out. I get why he doesn't, though.

He wasn't in a rush after I saw the show on Thursday night, and he couldn't have been nicer.
I wasn't even planning on trying to meet him. He just happened to coming out at the same time I was coming down the street after meeting Hope Davis and Marcia Gay Harden. I was only one of three people there due to the rain, which I'm sure only helped the situation.
I can totally understand why he comes out through the alley. Under normal circumstances, it would be absolute chaos at the "Julia" door.
