Going to NYC in 10 Days...Any Tips?

So....I'm hoping to get a whole lot of shows in 8 nights and 7 days, and I was wondering what the chances are if I stand in line at the box office(s) super early in the morning that I will be able to get tickets for shows like Wicked, Spamalot and some of the other more popular shows. I HOPE to see Spamalot, Wicked, DRS, Hairspray, The Dancers Life, 25th Putnam County, The Producers, Avenue Q, Barefoot In The Park, Rabbit Hole, and POSSIBLY The Odd Couple although I'm pretty sure thats not going to happen.
I am a student, so I know that I can get some pretty good deals with my card at the theatre box office.

I just want to know any other tips that anyone can give me to make sure I can get into the shows I want to....or anything else worth doing when I'm down there with my school.

<3 Thanks everyone.

My only advice for you is: GET THEE TO SWEENEY TODD.

DRS, Spam, Wicked, Hairspray, The Producers, all those shows are touring.

ETA: I also realized The Color Purple wasn't on that list. That is an excellent show, and I've heard Jersey Boys is also.

Hope you have a great trip.
Some shows I adore:
Avenue Q- They have a lottery. Try for the $21.25 tickets
Spelling Bee- They also have a lottery. They also have standing room.
Jersey Boys- A must see. I think they have student tickets.
The Color Purple- A must see.
Sweeney Todd- Sondheim at his best.
Have a great trip.
