Going to see Color Purple and I'm booking tickets today. I was told that Front Center Mezzanine Row A is ideal. Would you agree? Or should I try for Center Orchestra--what row? So far I haven't found any center seats available, but the front mezz is. What to do?!
I would love to see that show from the Front Mezz...but I saw it FRONT ROW ORCH off the the Right side....I think Row E or F CENTER orch would be AMAZING seats for this production!
Yes, the Mezzanine (FRONT ONLY) is a great pick for this theatre. Orchestra wise, avoid the sides, they're too cramped I have come to learn. Anything in Center Orch. up to row P or Front Mezz, any seat, would work nicely for your viewing pleasure!!
Yes, avoid rear mezzanine, try to remain center, and you should be fine. Enjoy!
I saw THE COLOR PURPLE from rear mezz and it was miserable. Then I saw it from mid-right orchestra, and it was fine.
I always feel that the most ideal seats are center mezz, front row.

The first time I saw Miss Saigon at the Broadway I was back in the rear mezz, and I hated it. Second time, fifth row center and I liked it alot.
Now, it could be its because Miss Saigon is really an intimate musical blown up to feature the fall of Saigon and some stupid production numbers. The real action is between two or three people in small rooms. So that might have had something to do with my enjoyment level.
From what I've seen Color Purple is all over the stage with necessary big production numbers.
