Its entirely too late to write out a full review when ive been out and about alllll day, but I saw the show tonight for the first time. I enjoyed it. It wasnt a life changing experience, but it was a good time. Some talented people in that cast are underused i think.
I'm glad you had fun. I just couldn't enjoy myself. The show infuriated me.

So now for a few more thoughts...
I felt a little underwhelmed by David Larsen, not that he was bad, but he didnt have a whole lot of stage presence in my opinion. At times I couldnt even hear him too well over the orchestra so maybe I caught him on a bad day. Tituss Burgess and Brandon Wardell were more impressive. Brandon sang my favorite song as well. I wouldve loved to hear more from Sebastian Arcelus and John Jeffrey Martin- both have beautiful voices. The ladies of the show were all doing a great job singing and dancing. Kate Reinders and Jessica-Snow Wilson both played their parts a little cartoonish but it fit the show.
The show is far from perfect, Marcella magically reappearing at another Giggles is pretty random but the old beach movies were kindve random like that anyway. The big set piece everyone hates so much, didnt bother me. It was lit green like grass in one scene, and like snow in the last scene. I do wish they had been more adventurous and had surfers on different levels in more than just the curtain call.
As I said in my first post, I enjoyed it. Im very glad I saw it. I was with my mom and we were both doing a little dancing in our seats.

Oh yay! Thanks for coming back and sharing your more detailed thoughts about the show. I agree with a lot of what you said.
I wasn't really feeling Brandon at first, but he won me over with "Just Wasn't Made For These Times."
And something to note: Sebastian understudies Bobby. I am just hoping that I randomly happen to be back in the city if he ever goes on in that role. I would LOVE to see that.

i would love it if every show that hit broadway had a cast recording but i think its quite expensive and unfortunately not always possible.
Well, it wouldn't be a "Good Vibrations" thread if Bryan didn't post anything about a cast recording...

I agree with you Mistress, while it's not a show that I would say moved me to the core of my being or changed my life in any way, I enjoyed it. I thought that it was a fun show. I loved Kate Reinders. And I will say I agree with what you said about Larsen, only I ended up seeing it a second time and I liked him a lot better.

i was wondering half the time i was there if he was just poorly mic'd -- he was the only one i was having trouble hearing.
