Current Good Vibrations actor Chad Kimball will leave the new Beach Boys musical shortly after the work opens on Broadway to begin work on the upcoming John Lennon stagework Lennon.

What is going on with Good Vibrations? Is it really going to open?

I don't really know the names of the people off the bat. Was he a lead? And how big? Why are so many people leaving?? and who is replacing him? Why did he leave so suddenly, I mean what was the point of learning your part, then leaving?

Well, in addition to another director being brought in the doctor the book and the show generally, actors leaving while a new show is in previews is the sign of a production in a LOT of trouble. Can't speak specifically about GV, but generally when this happens, the actors are seeing the finished product for what it is (mediocre), reckon the show won't be around very long and they call their agents to actively submit them for other work, hoping to secure another job before the turkey they're in folds.

This is not new news about Chad Kimball. broadway.com reported on 12/10 that he would be exiting for a role in Lennon. Here's the link to their article:
