I have low expectations for both of these shows. Ugh.

I did until I heard the clip of "Surfin USA" on the website.
It sounds like muscial theatre meets Beach Boys.

I agree with jacob
The sound clips sound really good, I'm looking forward to the cast recording (as I doubt I'll be seeing the show)

I love the Beach Boys music----have listened to it and picked it apart for years (and years)----I somehow find the sound clips from this site to be missing something-----it makes me wish I was listening to the actual arrangements (and singers) of the music. I can't put my finger on it----the music sounds as if it's flat(not musically flat---just one-dimensional). Maybe with the dancing, it'll seem more entertaining---I just don't have a desire to feel like "gee, I could've had a V8!"

Totally agreed. I'm a HUGE Beach Boys/Wilson fan and... Liek Mama Mia I miss the original pop brilliance of the arrnagements and productions--
The broadway.com making of clip was even more disheartening--first the cast goes on about how they never liked the Beach Boys songs before and were shocked they were good, then the writers say they listened to the songs to find a common theme or story and then "threw all that out and found a new story" (WHAT?) and the rest of the clip is about how much flesh is in the show (male nudity apparantly) and how hard the cast works out to stay in shape.
FUN FUN FUN
If the show were 20 dollars I'd prob go if I were in New York--i'd prob be a fun night out. But 80+ for this kinda "theatre" ?
