I am so excited. But technically no i did not get front row but i got Right Orchestra Row B, Seat 6, What is your opinion of this seat? And does Patti usually come out the Stage Door to sign autographs on Sundays. I might assume she won't Sat for the downpour of rain.
Is there anything I should prepare myself before I see the show?
I saw Patti when I went to the Tonys and I got a Gypsy playbill since I stagedoor'd the Day I saw Billy Elliot but She didn't come out....Then again Laura Benanti did not come out either.

If there is only that one show, I would imagine she would come out. Despite what people say she is usually good with at least signing, and she has been everytime I've seen the show.
Also, if you haven't seen the show bring multiple diapers. You will need them.

I saw it on Sunday, two weeks ago. Pattie came out, Laura and Boyd didn't.
Has anyone seen Laura at the stage door? I didn't see her either when I saw Gypsy. I would imagine it's probably fun to see the fans after the show.
Sorry double post. Updated On: 10/23/08 at 10:08 PM
Seen the show 4 times on Sundays and Patti, Boyd, and most of the supporting cast came out. Laura however did not any of those times.

You know there's a secret exit from the St. James dressing rooms through Angus McIndoo's don't you? Nathan Lane used it very often during THE PRODUCERS.

Yes, but I didn't want to miss Patti and her car was in front of the real stage door.
I think Laura used to come out when the show first opened, but not anymore. I personally would not want to wait for her at the other exit if she obviously is avoiding the stage door scene, but that's just me.
Patti most likely will come out after a Sunday matinee.
I know Patti has a Great Attendance rate for Gypsy. Anyone see 2008 Gypsy with an understudy for Mamma rose?

I think Patti has only missed one performance so far. She's awesome!
The front row is seriously AMAZING. You trade in the ability to see everything perfectly (you basically miss seeing a majority of the orchestra in the back, the happy birthday louise sleeping bag scene, and anything below the knees.) for the ability to see the entire show unravel right in front of you. The first time I saw it was Mezz. and even though I got more of an idea of what the show was (you can see the sets and overall production much better from here), when I saw it last I got front and center and it was the best theatrical experience I have ever had. To get to be just feet away from Laura Benanti during Little Lamb (so close you can actually see her cry), to be that close to Patti when she tears apart that letter and belts out "and for you!!", to be that close to these amazing performers, and then to get to end it all with Patti performing Rose's Turn - right there in front of you, it's overwhelming to say the least. Definitely the best way to see this show, in my humble opinion, since this production of Gypsy isn't about the set, the dances, or anything else - it's about the performers.

My friend saw Lenora and thought she was wonderful. Patti has only missed one performance.
