Bravo and Congratulations Mr. Goulet! To borrow a phrase from another Jerry Herman musical, "Its So Nice To Have You Back Where You Belong."
Thanks for spreading the wealth WISHIHADATONY, but I started a Review thread a few topics away and this was the second review I posted :) Weiner from NEWSDAY seems to be the only critic not giving Goulet high praise, the rest are delightful and well deserved. Some even commend Beach on coming a long way!
But alot of them still disliked the production.
LaCageFan, I suspected the critics would like him. However, from reading the reviews, they seem to have loved him and think he has "elevated" the whole production. Everyone I know in "real life" who has seen him in the show, find his performance "mesmerizing," to quote my friend Billy. I believe Mr. Goulet's joining LA CAGE will cement its winning the Tony for best musical revival.
It sounds like he is wonderful and thrilling to see and I for one cannot wait to get to the Palace theater(hopefully very soon.)
Dont go to the PALACE, you'll see that revival of ByeByeBirdie! Make it the Marquis and youll see a much better show:)
LaCageAuxFollesFan2,
I love you. You know I was about to correct him.. AGAIN!
But DAME, he is blocking you so he wouldn't even see your correction.
SO he says..
