I'm currently in grease, I had no clue what I was singing before my audition I just went in with ALOT of character and I got what I wanted. as long as you go in with ALOT of character and show them you really want the part, (granted you know the director and have worked with them before) you shouldnt have a problem. Any time i've done it its gone well.

What about males for this show? I was thinking "Dancing Through Life" would be awesome and wouldn't be done by anyone else. It goes along with a lot of the same styles and ranges for the show.

I'm very sorry to have tried to interject some real word training and reality into this little faiyland.

If it shocked you..good. Perhaps one will get the hint that one needs to PREPARE for an audition..not just select a tune a couple of days before the audition and think this will land them the role (or any role).

Real life training begins now..not when you're in college or in the real world. It's too late then. Habits are hard to break and this business will break anyone who does not treat it seriously.

An actor prepares.

Just to make a point: She's in high school...

When I was in high school there was a difference in preparing for auditions for my school and for auditions outside of my school.

Just to make the point though...

edit: Not to be demeaning or anything in any way to high school theatre... it's just a different sort of theatrical world then you'll find anywhere else Updated On: 11/8/04 at 12:43 AM

ahhh..no.

Where do you think you learn about the audition process. Do you go to college or turn 18 one day suddenly you take the magical audition pill and learn how your supose to do it? And there is a skill involved in auditioning just like interviewing for a job. And picking music 2 days before is not the right way for high school, grammer school or the professional world.

I've seen 8 year olds give better auditions than some 15 year olds precisley because of this.

As I said before, I had been practicing with only one song, but then I heard it wasn't in the show. I'd narrowed it down to maybe five or so songs, and I's been working with all of them. Most of them are songs I'm doing in jy chorus class, so I get to practice them everyday with an expert teacher. Don't tell me I'm not preparing, because I've been preparing since September.

congrats- i'm auditioning for Sandy at my school's production of it. my audition is in 2 weeks. I've been preparing for a long time... i definitely deserve it. i get callbacks for all the leads the past years in my highschool, and now that i'm a senior i hope i finally get it... besides, all the other girls that have a chance have already had leads... so in a way it's my turn. and we don't have any outstanding underclassmen. it's mostly my grade who is any good. :) lol.
i hope to get Sandy, but i'd be content with any of the pink ladies.

EASY Freddy My Love, it's a fun and easy song to learn i two days.

Freddy my love is only on the stage version, i never made it to the movie, resons un benounced to me, and it really sucks because it's a great song, also FYI 'hopelessly devoted' is not in the stage version that song was written for Olivia Newton John. Updated On: 11/19/04 at 05:22 PM

a lot of the stage songs are in the background in the movie if you listen closely.

One thing I'm never going to do is have Grease! on my acting resume. Just isn't going to happen.
