I just had to reply because I lost my breath at the sight of "sideshowfan." It took me by surprise.

Are you a recent fan of the show? Or... a die-hard "I've loved it since 97/98" fan? LOL

In about 2000 I saw the CD in best buy and it looked so good I just had to buy it and after about an hour and half of crying. I fell in love with this musical. i have to admit that I prefer Emily over Alice bout Alie is really good. I have both of their duets CD and really love the song unsespecting hearts and I also hve em's solo cd. She is amazing. Do you know if she's gonna be back in a broadway musical soon.

Wasn't that movie based on the book and movie "Pollyanna?"

I was crying after their Tony performance in '98, which inevitably bound me to the show for life, lol.

Um, Emily... no IDEA about any Broadway shows in the works. She's doing some kind of concert like thingy a week from Monday. If I hear of anything, I'll be sure to keep you updated. You can check out my site below. It's the closest thing to an official site Emily has, lol. We keep it as up to date as possible. It's the only site on Fynsworth Alley that isn't official and is pretty much linked to anything concerning Emily, so yay for that.

And yes, Alice rocks, too. We love Alice. :)

Variety said recently that Debbie Allen was going to turn her recent West Coast musical PEARL (a modern dance retelling of "Snow White") into a movie, and was planning a play to star herself and her sister Phylicia. The article (which was about Debbie winning an award for female directors) said that POLLY was a turning point for her, because the writer (whom she had worked with on FAME) had insisted she direct it---the studio execs were nervous but she brought it in under budget and wrapped it in 20 days. I'm a big fan and I'm hoping if PEARL does well as a film (or the new FAME does well) Debbie might get a chance to do more Broadway. She had some rotten luck for a while, even with ARMISTAD the movie, but I think she is very talented. I hate it when people make fun of her choreography for the Oscars and talk about CARRIE. Miscalculations like that can happen to anyone. Debbie deserves a lot more benefit of the doubt.

YIKES!

Debbie Allen????!!!! Oh please no....another mediocore talent who insists on insisting their way into our musical lives.

Please don't encourage this.

I'll respect your opinion that Debbie is mediocre. But I maintain there is great potential in her. Who would you rate as still needing to prove themselves to make your pantheon?
