I really don't have anyone to share this news with who would be as happy as I am about it, so I thought I'd share it with my BwayWorld peeps since this is a + in the theater world direction.

My school. Private Catholic. South Florida. Does 2 plays a year. That's as far as that goes with the Drama program. Only 2 boys in it.

This year. I talked to Stephen Schwartz and asked him if it's possible for Godspell to only have 2 males. He said sure, in fact it can have all women!

So I told my drama teacher, and put him in his place. This is the man that said "The Last Five Years can't be done by High Schoolers. They can't relate to a divorce. Godspell can't be done with only 2 guys." He has now officially announced we are performing THE SCHOOL'S FIRST EVER MUSICAL, GODSPELL!!!!

Ok guys. Any advice? I'm a baritenor so which songs do you suggest? I barely know this show. I listened to it a couple of times because Barrett Foa is one of my greek gods.

There are quite a few recordings of GODSPELL on CD that are still in print. I would advise you to listen to as many as possible. Check your local library to see if they have any to check out.

Godspell is a great show. I did it in college. Why don't you try out for the Judas character. He and Jesus do a great vaudeville-like song called "All For The Best".

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

Judas I believe is sung by a baritenor. But "All Good Gifts" goes pretty high at the end; and must be sung by a true tenor. That's the song I sing in my current production of "Godspell". "Prepare Ye" can be sung also by a baritenor. So can "On The Willows" which in the off broadway revival is done by Judas, but can be sung a disciple. It's a beautiful song.

On The Willows is usually sung by the keyboardist and an actor, am I right?
