Early this morning, Theater Talk was on. As usual it gave no description. I DVR'ED it. I watched it this morning and much to my delight it was dedicated to Frank Langella & The Father
Some little facts from it:
1. He has a brother suffering from it
2. They talked about the use of earpieces. He said that if it ever came to that, he would retire from the stage
3. He tackled the subject of cell phones basically saying there is nothing you can do about & he is tired of fighting it.. He just accepts it and tries to deal with it. The same thing about people who come to theater like a day at the beach.
4. He is planning a sequel to his book "Dropped Names"
5. In 2017, he will do a drag role which he said he always wanted to do. It will start in La Jolla and is a stage adaptation of Oh Dad, Poor Dad, Mama's Hung You In The Closet And I Am Feeling So Sad"
6. He also said this role was the hardest he has ever done .
I can imagine it being his hardest role. It's hard just watching it. (Not a dig, it's just a grueling thing to see.)
He said with most roles after the show is over, he is fine. After The Father, he said it takes him over an hour to sort of decompress.
