Posted: 12/15/04 at 9:18amwell if you wanted to be true to the script, the dress would need to be made for you by a friend who works at a diner.

Posted: 12/15/04 at 9:29amReally? Oh I don't know...:-S. Isn't there just one pretty general one though that we could say is the main green dress or something, or something just remotely like it? I don't know people, I just want a dark green velvet dress with 20 buttons and a strap that looks sexy. It doesn't have to look exactly like any one actress' dress at any point in time that wore it, I just want a 20 button one strap dark green velvet sexy dress. Thanks muchly if anyone can help...:)

Posted: 12/15/04 at 2:26pmIs it? I don't know, I thought I was in the right message board, tell me if there is a specific theme to this message board and that I am in the wrong one. And if I am tell me what other one I should be in. There's an 'Off Topic' board then maybe?

Posted: 12/15/04 at 8:21pmOk but ya listen to me, I am asking if this message board is not for the topic I am talking about? What is this supposed to be about? Isn't this board just supposed to be about anything related to Broadway?

Posted: 12/15/04 at 8:36pmIn the original cast, Amy's dress looked nothing like the one described in the song. I mean it was green and everything, but I think that's just part of the song. But if you really want one, why don't you find a pattern for one and make it or have someone make it for you?

Posted: 12/15/04 at 9:10pmOh how did you find out this information? Weird. Ya why would they have the song say those lyrics if it wasn't a 20 button, etc. dress? And you are saying just Amy in the original? Does that mean Amy in other casts has had it by the guidelines of the song? Ya I suppose you are right that I could just get it made...except I don't know anyone I suppose and it might cost a lot?

Posted: 12/15/04 at 9:13pmBecause I've seen it? And Amy is the name of the girl who played Susan in the original cast, not the character's name. I think JohnPopa was right when he said each girl had a different dress, because Amy had a different dress than Molly Ringwald did when she played Susan.

Posted: 12/15/04 at 9:15pmOk so that's what I am asking...you didn't really answer all of my questions if you know them...so yes several people have played Susan then? You'll have to excuse me I don't really know the show too well I thought you meant the character's name was Amy also. And I was also interested in why she didn't wear a dress just like the song describes it and if any other people that played Sara DID wear a dress exactly as described in the song.

Posted: 12/15/04 at 9:22pmI didn't answer your question because I didn't know, and I find it kind of funny that you called the character two different names in what you just said. Maybe if you did some research on the show, it would help you. As I said, JohnPopa was right when he said that each girl wore a different dress, so it might be that one girl playing Susan wore a dress like the one described in the song. I don't know for a fact, but maybe you can find it on the internet. You should do some research on the show, and I think it would help a whole lot if you actually read the answers given to you instead of being rude.

Posted: 12/15/04 at 9:29pmOk I am sorry you are taking it as me being rude right now. That was not my intention as to come across that way, I was just confused why you didn't just say "I don't know". I'd be cool with that. Ok. I guess I'll do research then or you can just not answer the people like me who don't know a lot about the show. My intention wasn't to really research the show, I was just curious about that one fact and when in your first reply you sounded like you might know a whole lot, not saying you don't, but if you didn't know the answers to the questions you could've just said you didn't know instead of not responding to them at all. In fact, YOU came across rude to me with "Because I've seen it?" I merely asked you how you came across to know that you didn't have to make it a duh answer to me as if I was stupid. Who knows you may have not seen the show but you may have known that fact from some other source. Anyway, I've gone way too deep into this, lata...

Posted: 12/15/04 at 11:20pmTry to get a patter and make it yourself. Use your imagination. I am sure he will like it. Even if it is not verbatum to the song.
