GREGG EDELMAN: Back in Town is a jaunty new show that just enjoyed a highlysuccessful premiere at Feinstein’s in New York City. The title harkens back to those“long ago” nights when people regularly went to see top singers each time they returned to their favorite supper clubs, places like The Empire Room in Chicago, The Coconut Grove in Los Angeles, and The Persian Room in New York City. Gregg approaches his blue chip repertoire, which includes both classics from the Great American Songbook and a few selections of more recent vintage, with genuine affection and a natural, effortless swing. He caresses evergreen ballads such as“When I Fall In Love” and “In The Still Of The Night” and finds the impassioned ardor smoldering beneath two Michel Legrand masterpieces, “I Will Wait For You” and“The Windmills Of Your Mind.” He also pays tribute to his mentor, the late Cy Coleman, with a sly and sexy rendition of “You Fascinate Me So” and later on, finds time to revel in the sophisticated word play of Cole Porter’s “At Long Last Love.”GREGG EDELMAN: Back in Town is a show filled with romance, humor and Gregg’s love of the music that made nightclubs a special place to be during the 1950’s and 60’s.

With fourteen Broadway shows and four TONY nominations to his credit, Chicago native Gregg Edelman has starred on Broadway, television and in film for over twenty years. His roles on Broadway in City of Angels, Wonderful Town, 1776 and Les Mis, to mention just a few, have also earned him the Drama Desk Award as well as numerous Outer Critics nominations. His movie credits include Kate Winslet’s husband in Little Children and Peter Parker’s doctor in Spiderman 2. On television, he was a regular on CBS’ Hack, appeared numerous times as a guest star on shows such as The Good Wife, Mercy and Law and Order, and no list of Gregg’s television work would be complete without mentioning the time he spent as the voice of the peanut M&M. His concert and recording work have given him the opportunity to travel all over the world, appearing with groups like the Boston Pops, the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and the Detroit Symphony, as well as the Philadelphia and Chicago Pops, among others. His many appearances at Carnegie Hall with the New York Pops have given him the chance to honor friends such as Kander and Ebb and Charles Strouse. His 17 recordings of Broadway shows include the cast albums of City of Angels, Wonderful Town, 1776, and Into The Woods, among others. His latest project, a new nightclub act entitled GREGG EDELMAN: Back in Town just enjoyed a highly successful New York City premiere at Feinstein’s. Additional dates are planned for 2010 and beyond.
