I saw Grey Gardens on Saturday, November 4 and here is the verdict:

This show is powerful. And when I say powerful, it has such a wonderful storyline and the performances were outstanding. I can honestly say that I just saw a Tony winning performance from Mrs. Ebersole! But getting back to the show, it was so heartbreaking what was happening in the storyline (w/ the relationship between the mother and daughter) that you could hear a pin drop in the crowd. It was outstanding. Also - the newcomer Erin Davie, wow....I was simply amazed with her voice and how well she played Little Eddie. I was sort of down that she was not used more in Act 2.

The best part about the show for me was the fact that I did not want to see this, I wanted to see Wedding Singer again and was convinced to see a new show. I went kicking and screaming until Erin Davie and Ebersole so called "raised the roof" - go see this show, its a treat :)

I made a list of all your faults, it was quite detailed and lengthy too and when I read it through I missed you. Your like a classic Eagles song, you just cant help but sing along even though it sometimes gets annoying too. I just know I want to be wherever I can wake and see you there next to me. **High Fidelity** Love is what I do **The Wedding Singer** Xanadu - Best NEW Musical of the Season!

i also saw Grey Gardens on Saturday the 4th...

the first highlight of course was that I was there at 1:00 and Christine Ebersole was standing outside the stage door! So I got to talk to her, get a picture, and a ticket signed. It was fun.

The show was absolutely great! Christine Ebersole is definitely Tony-worthy for this part...The whole cast was quite excellent, though. It was a little weird how the second act was sooo different after the first act ended on an emotional level...It was a little hard to immediately get into that emotional place, but it was still great...I loved the part of the sest that was the mansion, but I thought that some of the projections were a little tacky at times. Erin was amazing as Young Little Edie and I also would have liked her to have done more in Act II.

And I thought it was soo funny when they had a line referring to Jackie "Kennedy" at age 12 or whatever, "That girl's always had so much poise and confidence." I don't remember the exact line....but that amused me....I do think that Sarah Hyland looked a little too old for the part, though.

but yes, well done! hooray
