'Group tickets' question

Stupid Question Alert!! I'm sorry, please don't laugh at me, but...
I'm in the UK, I've never bought Broadway tickets before and I'm desperate (along with a few billion other people) to get some great tickets for 'The Odd Couple'. However, I'm confused about the 'group tickets' system.
The tickets that have just gone on sale in groups of no less than 20 - are these seats set aside for group sales only? Or will others get a chance at them too, once the tickets go on sale proper? I'm gripped by a terrible fear at the thought of finding that my choice of seats is limited to the rear three rows of the balcony. We can't see Nathan from there! He's only little!
So what I want to know, in a nutshell, is this: are the good seats only available as group tickets? (There's always eBay, of course, but that's Plan B...)

Before any show begins selling single tickets, the group sales people are given first crack at the tickets. Sometimes there are very few groups booked and sometimes there are a lot. I would expect a lot will book for The Odd Couple. Sometimes seats are returned since a group will reserve the maximum number of tix they might need and only when it comes to payment will the precise number be bought.
If your travel plans are flexible, aim for a date a bit far into the run like after January 1st and during the week. Right now Nathan and matthew are signed until April 2nd.
The Brooks Atkinson Ttheatre itself while a trifle shabby, is one of my favorites. It is under 1100 seats and I have sat in many sections over the years both downstairs and upstairs. The acoustics are good, and it is a theatre well suited to comedy.
Seats will sell fast so log onto Ticketmaster.com from time to time and check out when the on-sale date is.
