re: Guessing A Show?

On a Clear Day? Half takes place in the 1700's and meets the other criteria, if you can call Encores a Broadway revival (Kristen Chenoweth 2000).

Must it be a musical? Amadaeus comes to mind for all the other stuff.

By the way, The Secret Garden takes place in Edwardian England -- 1901 to 1910 -- which misses the 1700's a lot more than Les Miz.

Jean Valjean got arrested in the late 18th century. So the novel actually covers the 18th century, but of course the musical doesn't.
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!

It's Oliver, for those of you who didn't read what I said (I wish it was "Clear Day" though...).

hmm... i'll ask. of course, they might still have it as an option for next year, and therefore won't tell us the other option. right now i'm trying to stay present where i'm present, and not dwell on these things (because I keep thinking about the next show while i'm currently in a show).

"Why do supposed educators feel the need to dangle "clues" over their students? It is just juvenile."

Well, for one thing it might actually make the kids do some thinking and some researching. Is that really such a bad thing?
