Just saw GB with Allison Fraser tonight. What that theater can do with that stage and lights is amazing! I don't know if noticing the lights is a good thing or not (that's a discussion for another thread), but those lights - wow!
Both Patrick Quinn and Daniel Marcus are EXCELLENT in this - just about stealing the show from Fraser. The score, I think, is uneven - some very strong songs ("Jenny" and "Gunmetal Blues" - both for Quinn, and "The Blonde Song" for Fraser) and some almost City of Angel like rip-offs. The book is smart and funny, though the ending is a bit confusing. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth stopping by (I went in 20 minutes before the show, got rush tickets for half price - my seat was EXCELLENT).

Fraser originated the role of The Blonde in Philly in 1995. You can hear her sing "The Blonde Song" on her album NEW YORK ROMANCE and "Put It On My Tab" on her album MEN IN MY LIFE.
I saw the show last week and it was wonderful overall. I'll definitely go back before it closes.
