Thoroughly enjoyed this! It's not your typical actor-musician show, spare ensemble members play instruments in the background rather than the usual; for example Sky doesn't sing Luck be a Lady with his trusty cello at hand - but the ensemble members hang around the bakc as if innocent bystanders leaning on street walls etc and just happen to be playing istruments - very clever.
The cast were all great, especially Laura Pitt-Pulford, however Sky was weak as far as vocals go - at the end of "I've Never Been in Love Before" his top note was fab, but the rest he was very weak in; because Sky is a veyr low part to sing. By the way - Sit Down You're Rocking the Boat was absolutely amazing! A real treat; completely original take on the actor-musician ordeal and the show itself. Very good!

OMG! -wonderful, if you can see this, see it at all costs!
It blows my thoughts on actors /musicians right out of the orchestra pit!
A company of 23 touring these days is rare and the talent on stage is amazing and some cast members are stunning!!! (PMs will explain what I mean! lol).

I do agree with the week casting in the above post but as a whole it is sensational!
Most certainly deserves a West End season.
It blows my thoughts on actors /musicians right out of the orchestra pit!

Damn I'm sorry I missed this in Cardiff now 
it was on my list of 'maybes' but real life has got in the way of theatre lately.
Glad to see a posative spin on actor/musician though.

Rather sad that it was opening night lat night and in the 1000 seat Grand Theatre the audience totaled around 400. The rest of the week is not selling with a few nights having just around 40 or so booked.
**The local well established amateur company that I was a member of in the 70s is presenting 'Children Of Eden' next week and that has nearly been cancelled due to lack of bookings but is going ahead but playing to almost empty houses all week.
Seems that the days when am/drams used to sell out are gone -OR- do they need to go back to the old musicals such as the Oklahoma' and 'South Pacific's to get the audiences in. Recent amateur productions of 'The Scarlet Pimpernel' and the likes have almost bankrupt the companies doing them!

Such a shame about Children of Eden not selling. It's an awesome show and Swansea Amateurs are such a great company. I would definitely have been there to see it next week had they not scheduled it for the week I'm going to New york!!!
