Guys and Dolls London Recording

Hi All -

Does anyone know if there is going to be a recording of the current London production of Guys and Dolls w/ Ewan McGregor and Jane Krakowski? I would LOVE to have a recording of both of their performances.

Cheers,

I've been wanting to know about this myself; I looked around on the Net for a bit and didn't find anything about it. I'd also love to hear it - especially since I'll never see it!!

Ewan McGregor is no longer in the production...I believe he's already off on his next movie endeavour. So unless they can get him away to record it, I don't see it happening.

Why does it take them so long to record stuff in London? I mean Billy Eliot still doesn't have one?!

He's still in this production. He and Jane K. leave on December 5.

Really? I could swear I read in a mag sonewhere that he had finished. Ah well...then maybe there's still a shot.

Yep yep, he's still there. And filming like, during the day. He's a busy man.

Right though. CD. There BETTER be. Some ppl say there won't becaue of lack of interest for the stars (which is really just...stupid seeing as how it's mostly the stars who got all those tickets sold out...) And even then, they recorded Mary Poppins and Billy Elliot, they record West End shows. THEY HAVE TO RECORD THIS ONE! THE WORLD WILL NOT BE RIGHT

I was on vacation and had tickets when the first bombings happened and they cancelled the show that night, which was totally understandable. But it would be nice to hear a recording of what I missed!

The thing is, after I saw the show, I could barely listen to the 1990 (1991 was it?) Broadway recording. I mean, of course I still do because Guys and Dolls has been my favorite show for a long, long time but it's so weird cause now everytime I listen to Nathan Lane (no matter HOW much I love him) I absolutley CRAVE the performance of Douglas Hodge.

Funny, I haven't seen a professional production, and I still can't stand Nathan Lane on that album. However, Peter Gallagher is perfection as Skye.

And its the 1992 Broadway production.

Yes 1992 that was it. You know, it's SO weirdly creepy and strange how similar and yet different Peter Gallagher's CD Skye was to Ewan's. They're SO similar voice-wise except Ewan doesnt have as much as a..husk I guess? Plus his belting out does Peter's..hate to say it. And Jenna Russell and Ewan's voices together...URRRGH PERFECT
