Any word on when/if the new cast will make a recording?

according to talkingbroadway.com Gypsy 2003 cast will be released on July 22. :)

Yeah, but that was when they thought they would be recording it right after officially opening. Since they are pretty much waiting for Bernadette's voice to be in perfect condition again, it may effect the release date.
I still don't understand why they don't just record the songs that Bernadette is not a part of asap, and then record the ones she is a part of when she feels better; it would save on time.

Well the funny thing is I heard that when they recorded the Tyne Daily GYPSY that Tyne was sick as well, but they recorded it anyhow. That's why she doesn't sound that strong. Many people have said Tyne was amazing and powerful live, but weaker on the cd, but sad that everyone will associate her with what we have to rememeber her by, the cd.

I think that is precisely why they have not yet recorded the new cast version. They don't want people to remember Bernadette when she was sick, the way they do with Tyne.
Personally, I would rather the CD not be released until August if that's how long it takes...as long as Bernadette sounds her best.

The cast recording for the current Gypsy Revival is scheduled to take place on June 22nd and released approximately one month later.
