There will be a fair amount of plot that goes over the head of a 7 year old, but the music will be easy to like -

Heck I'm 35 and don't know if I could sit through Gypsy.

that's sad; you're missing out.

When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad

Raise 'em up to appreciate something good from an early age.

So many people grow up morons because they only watched/read crap as a child.

There's nothing terrible in the show that will damage your child for life, but your money would be wasted because there whole thing will just go over the kid's head.

Thanks for the info -

she has seen Wicked - Joseph - Millie (regional) - and loves theatre -

she loves the music to Gypsy at home - so I am going to have her see it -

on our trip she will see ITH - then Billy Elliot on the west end - then back to see gypsy -

My sister and I were both in a production at around 7.....the dark parts won't be understood...but she'll love a lot of it.
