Gypsy of the Year DVD ! Is it worth it ?

I saw on Broadway Beat.com that they are selling DVDs of this year's Gypsy of the Year show !!! All the profits go to Broadway Cares. I did my amount of shopping when in NYC for the Broadway Cares cause, because I think it's a great cause that everyone should help. However, since the DVD is going to cost me about $45 with shipping to Greece and everything, should I get it ? I have no idea what to expect, so I am asking for any info on the particular show from anyone who was there or has heard anything. Thanks

I did see the show on December 9 , luckily from the second row, orchestra --

It's a great chance to see a little of each show's ensemble talents presenting different acts. The skits were hilarious, the dancing was fantastic, and the singing appealing. Even the emcees were very entertaining. And it was fun to watch Harvey, Bernadette, and Hugh as awards presenters. I am getting a copy to refresh my memories of a totally entertaining afternoon - particularly if you are an avid Broadway watcher - especially with regards to the wit and humour displayed.

Not worth it, in my opinion. There were a handful of entertaining bits, but they were outweighed by the clunkers.

It was the weakest GYPSY OF THE YEAR of the five I've seen.

I "heard" the PHANTOM bit was pretty funny...especially since it named a particular editor-in-chief and website... LOL

You're in Greece? I lived in Marousi, Athens for 8 years! I also went to La Verne for 2 years (1996- 199...I've moved back here to NJ in 1998...where abouts do you live?

I live in Neo Iraklio which is very near to the Olympic Stadium and therefore very close to Maroussi :)

Yes I know where Neo Iraklio is. But Maroussi is a nice area and so is Kifisia.
I have a friend who lives in Glyfada! I remember "The Village Center" was very popular when I left!!
Anyway I'll try to make it to the 04 Olympics but I doubt I'll find tickets!! All my 8 years in Greece and never met anyone who was into Broadway!!
