Saw the second preview last night and ate it up. Wonderful to hear an overture played!! It has been so long since I heard one, and one the was appealing.
Mr Radcliffe is a star!!! Working hard and having a ball at the same time. You route for him the whole evening. I saw the revival back in the 90s and this one has heart, and also something new: a sense of menace: that this guy comes into a company and manipulates his was to the top. Very interesting choice and I loved it. Mr. Laorquette is winning and stops the show in act 1. Very impressive debut of the Rosemary. Lovely voice and great chemistry with Mr. Radcliffe. Hats off to Mary Faber as Smitty!!! Great!!
Too much to mention but loved the staging, lighting, choreography and costumes.
A great evening of an old fashioned show. Yes, it is long, but they wrote them long back then.
